Hearing loss or impairment is the total or partial inability to hear in one or both ears. Someone who has this hearing loss may be able to hear some sounds or nothing at all. When something is not working in correctly nor as well as it should, it will be called impairment. Besides that, some people also called it as deaf, deafness or hard of hearing.

Are you getting the hearing loss?

If you are the one of them, you shouldn’t be upset. Nowadays, there are lots of technologies that had been created to solve this problem. The hearing aids in the market can make your life getting better and happier.

If your hearing isn't too bad then you can be fit with hearing aids that are called "open fit". This leaves your ear canal as open as possible- this combined with the amplification have helped a lot of people who suffer from tinnitus.

I have some information about the types of the hearing aids. Hope its can help you.

1) Behind-the-Ears (BTE) hearing aids are worn behind the ear and are connected to a plastic ear mold that fits inside the outer ear. It functions when the sounds travels from this aid through the ear mold in to the ear. People of all ages for mild to profound hearing loss are used BTE hearing aids. However, fitting BTE ear mold may cause feedback, a whistle sound caused by the fit of the hearing aids or by buildup of earwax or fluid.

2) In-the -Ears (ITE) hearing aids is for those who had mild to severe hearing loss. It fit completely in the outer ear. The components are hold by the case which made of hard plastic. ITE hearing aids can accommodate added technical mechanism such as a telecoil, a small magnetic coil contained in the hearing aids that improves sound transmission during telephone calls.

3) In-the-Canal (ITC) hearing aids can be used for mild to moderately/ severe hearing loss. It is small one piece hearing aids. It fits outside the ear canal and the components contained in a custom-fit, hard-molded plastic shell. Besides that, it slightly visible in the ear.

4) Completely-in-the-Canal (CIC) is very small one-piece hearing aids. It can be used for those who had hearing loss from mild to moderately/ severe. It fit inside the ear canal and barely visible or not visible at all in the ear canal. CIC hearing aids may be difficult for the user to adjust and remove it as the size is small. Besides that, it may not be able to hold additional devices, such as a telecoil.

However, don’t get them by yourself. Let your audiologist tell you what is appropriate. Buy the one that’s most comfortable for you and the one that your doctor think is most suitable for your condition.
